Pre-assembled hydraulic wet kits contain all the components necessary for the desired application—whether tipping, walking floor, or a combination kit for various equipment—for your specific vehicle brand, such as Volvo or MAN.
Within the kit, you’ll find hoses, valves, cylinders, pumps, motors, filters, and mounting hardware suited for your chosen application.
Pre-assembled wet kit contents
You typically get these parts with a combination wet kit:
- Hydraulic Tank: This is usually an aluminium tank with fittings for the return lines, pump feed line, suction lines, oil level indicator, mounting brackets, etc. Tanks come in different capacities, often up to 200 litres.
- Hydraulic Pump: Wet kits include a high-pressure piston pump to push fluid through the system. Pumps have specifications like displacement, max pressure, inlet/outlet sizes, and bi-directional capabilities.
- Pressure Relief Valve: An inline pressure relief valve adjusts system pressure between 50-380 bar.
- Diverter Valve: A 3-way manual diverter valve controls fluid flow.
- Directional Valve: Kits include a directional tipping valve (normally closed) to control flow to hydraulic cylinders with specs like 180 bar max pressure and 1″ BSP ports.
- PTO: The power take-off system engages the pump and includes parts like a rear PTO block, quill shaft, adapter plate, gaskets, and pneumatic connector.
- Cab Controller: An electronic tipping controller with a PTO switch manages tipping/lowering and interfaces with the truck’s 24v electrics.
- Fittings: Adapters, swivels, ball valves and other fittings like ports and nits.
With tipper and other single-use kits, the main differences are:
- Higher capacity tank and lines in combo kits.
- Higher capacity pump in combo kits. For example, a Volvo combo kit might use a 108L, bi-directional, bent-axis piston pump, while a MAN tipper kit might use 85L bi-directional, 9-piston pumps.
- Additional diverter valve in combo kits. Combo kits have a manual diverter valve and a directional tipping valve. Tipper kits only have a directional tipping valve.
- PTO activation method (pneumatic vs clutch).
- Controller integration of PTO management in combo wet kits.
The benefits of pre-assembled wet kits
Pre-assembled hydraulic wet kits offer truck owners and fleet operators a convenient, cost-effective solution for adding hydraulic functionality.
Rather than sourcing various pumps, valves, tanks, and accessories from different suppliers, a complete kit contains everything needed for professional installation, saving you time hunting for compatible parts and money compared to buying individually.
All components integrate seamlessly with minimal modifications, from bolt-on brackets to pre-wired PTO systems, so whether you run an ejector trailer, walking floor, or tipper body, a purpose-built kit optimises performance.
Quick delivery of ready-to-install assemblies also maximises uptime compared to waiting on custom fabrications, improving fleet runtime.
Wet kits are designed for specific gearboxes and truck ranges that have appropriate PTO ports, mounting points, and sufficient torque ratings. Before buying, consult the product details to cross-reference your vehicle’s gearbox model for compatibility.
