Having worked for over twenty years salvaging and exporting used trucks parts, Mr H Watti (founder) gained a good understanding of the trucking industry. One thing that he noticed was that when a customer would buy a truck for dismantling they would always leave behind a number of parts. The answer to why they would leave these parts behind would depend on where they were going. Instead of simply recycling these items the idea dawned on him to try and market them here in the UK. The issue was how to let people know that we had these items for sale so we created a website rather than using traditional advertising. As time went on and after many conversations with customers, it was becoming clear that the demand for second hand truck parts in the UK was beginning to grow. In the early days the buying of used parts would usually prompt customers to come and view the goods before buying so if there was someone closer with the same parts this would potentially result in a loss of sale. Mr Watti saw this as a challenge to overcome as distance was always a major factor in a prospective customer’s decision making. At that point it seemed obvious that the future of the industry would lead to a digital platform and move away from old school wheeling and dealing. By retailing used truck spares online with a fast delivery service, this would not only meet a market demand but by salvaging used parts this would mean less demand for the manufacturing of new parts therefore helping to reduce carbon footprint. Over the years Mr Watti gained a better understanding of logistics and digital advertising which proved very helpful in the world of online sales. This would then lead to the creation of our first e-commerce website and the establishment of M W Truck Parts LTD in 2016.
With view to diversify and enter new markets, in 2018 we dived into the world of truck hydraulics. Starting small by supplying hydraulic wet kits for tipping trailers this later evolved into wet kits for walking floors trailers, recover vehicles, truck mounted cranes and much more. Almost seven years later hydraulics is an area we are still very passionate about with research and development continueing year on year which broadens our knowledge and understanding of the industry. This allows us to offer a wider range of products and by 2023 we increased our product range tenfold offering all types of hydraulic equipment such as: pumps, valves, PTO’s and many other parts and accessories. As the years progress we hope to become a one stop shop for our entire customer’s truck hydraulic needs. When M W Truck Parts LTD first started trading our intention was to specialise in all manner of used parts for trucks however as the demand for hydraulic parts grew, this paved the way for new opportunities. As time went on we soon realised that many used parts we offered were becoming difficult to sell. With many new aftermarket parts flooding the market we wanted to stand out in crowd. We didn’t want to be a “jack of all parts” and a specialist in none. Gradually we began to focus our time and resources on supplying Quality Used Truck Engines & Engine Parts, Hydraulic Wet Kits & Equipment and Electrical Parts. These goods, we felt, had limited aftermarket options, were costly to repair and reconditioned parts by comparison still carried a large price tag. Later we noticed that certain genuine OEM parts differed very little in terms of quality to the aftermarket equivalents. In late 2020 we introduced our first product line of brand new parts, E57 approved “OEM Compatible” Truck Fuel Tanks.
